Thanks Arne, it is a skill I need to learn to do properly. I've gotten quite good at sewing.:)

Nothing is happening at the moment because people keep waving money under my nose to do work for them. So though the cradle is not finished and the keel is not on, at least money is going into the the launch fund.
I did buy 6 metres of 304 SS 25mm tube the other day for the stanchions and unspecified projects.

Much work on the cradle today and apart from the diagonal bracing it's just about done. The keel fit may well be Friday but Tuesday would be nice.It depends on whether my help manifests.

My planned help has a new girlfriend and a few days with her in beach house wins out over moving 850 kgs of lead and timber I guess.
Anyway, the cradle apart from some trimming is finish and I started lift the boat higher today. Only 17 inches to go. Probably the slowest trip Redwing will make.

Thanks Ketil, a friend is coming around tomorrow to help me for the day.
I hope at least to have the boat raised to the right height. Anything beyond that, like getting the keel onto the cradle would be a pleasant bonus.

It's taken longer than I thought it would but the boat is now high enough for the keel to fit underneath...very slow and fiddly job. I am now planning to do the bolt on next Thursday.

I see that your photo now shows you with the the waterline at about head-height. What's the designed draught of this class?

4'6" David. Where I'm standing is about a foot below the top of the cradle base. I'm 5'9".

That would be a stiff boat, has the same draft as my 35'er. Clearly yours is a performance machine!
