For all interested in historic sailing vessels, oriental history and music, the Festival du Chant de Marin has a main theme of ‘travels to the East’ this year, which invites all sails with an oriental link to join them in Paimpol, Brittany. The website shows they already have some amazing lateen sails on the guest list, but no junks (yet).

If you’d like to reserve a place in the picturesque harbour during the festival you’ll need to contact them through their website, and don't forget to add your name to this list so we can make this into a proper junket!

    Fair winds,

    Barbara

You Europeans are a lucky lot.  First Brixham, now this!  Poor old David Tyler will be having to sail flat out this summer to get to them all.  I wish I could be there to join in the fun and hope that lots of other junkies take the opportunity to join in.  Great to see you getting this info out to everyone, Barbara.

    Well ... it's a possibility.

To my shame, I had to look at the map to remind myself where Paimpol is. South of Île-de-Bréhat, which I remember as being a pleasant place to visit. And east of Lézardrieux, which is also a pleasant place to visit.
