Hi Tony, I've seen the movie, it is very interesting and well made. A piece of chart with their track would be valuable addition. What is the name of that exact fiord they have visited? Are you in the marina already? Wonder which one it's gonna be.

    Thanks Kris :-)

They started in Mandal, in the very south of Norway, but the area they refer to the most is in the vicinity of Stavanger; the Lysefjord.

I'm still in my back yard - I've had a change of plan and will complete the build here. The girls will be sailing on Loch Ness tomorrow :-)

We've just got back from a trip up to the Orkney Islands to visit Hazel and Elizabeth on Alanouwoly. They've given me some video clips of their sailing adventures in Norway and crossing the North Sea, and I've put them into this video (link below). The Alanouwoly part starts at about 4 minutes in.

For those that don't know, Alanouwoly is a converted Freedom 28 junk ketch, with flat sails and hinged battens. We've added a few mods to make her more suitable for live-aboard cruising - a bow roller set up, larger cleats and a chain storage box on the foredeck, solar panels (120W) and a larger (110ah) service battery, an autopilot, "composting" head, vhf with AIS reception, swim ladder on the transom, etc. So far, it's all working very well!
