from Lateens to junk Rigs, a Shunting journey...

This is genius!  I've always enjoyed your Youtube videos on shunting proas.  I think there could be huge potential in a shunting junk.  I'm just wondering now if it could be possible to shunt with an unstayed two-mast junk rig, and shift the Centre of Effort when shunting simply by reefing one sail while unreefing the other.

What I mean is this: is it possible to somehow achieve the required shift in Centre of Effort by swinging only the sails on a pair of fixed masts?

What are Shunters, and how do they work?

Oceanic Lateens are the original rig for Shunters, but land locked waters with ever changing conditions, don't fit a rig developed for trade winds ocean sailing...

Junk Rigs solved the problem, but getting them to shunt took months of trial and error...
