Wondering about the "junkability" of this boat.

How hard would it be to convert this to a junk rig?

This might be a suitable case for treatment, I think, and could result in a very nice long distance cruiser. At 10 tonnes displacement, the rig will have to be two-masted, either schooner or ketch. With the coachroof being possibly of lighter construction than the deck around the current mast position, I’d favour a ketch, with the mizzen mast somewhere near the current mainsheet track, and the mainmast somewhere in the forecabin (with the berth being converted to a single).

I found a discussion online about this  boat, which would appear to indicate that a large amount of practical knowledge, skill, work, money and time would have to go into a complete renovation, but it might be worthwhile if the hull is sound.

Thanks for that! She looks like she needs a lot of time/money/work. If she were closer to me this might make sense, but she's very far. And yet...the temptation is strong. Maybe someone else will buy her before I make an expensive mistake, lol!
