Well, Arcadian and Fantail have already shared an anchorage and we should be crossing tacks with Zebedee, soon.  Pugwash is being painted today and La Chica should be leaving Auckland tomorrow.  The plan is to foregather in Orongo Bay on the Friday and then potter up to Matauwhi on Saturday to enter that various races, spending most of the day sailing the course, followed by a party and Hangi at the delightful Russell Boating Club.  I shall suggest a sail round to Patanui Bay in Te Puna Inlet for Sunday (plenty or room for a heap of boats), but from past experience, organising junkies is considerably more difficult than herding cats, so we shall just see what happens on the day.

Shoestring didn't get to spread her weed-mat wings this year at the Tall Ships Race, but I scrounged a ride with David and Rosemary Webb who kindly ferried me onto Arcadian,  from where I had inhibited panorama of the spectacle without having to worry about avoiding the abundance of enthusiastic vessels all jostling for the start-line...and what a spectacle!

Ah, you might well ask, Gary.  Withhold yourself with patience and all will be revealed in the next magazine!!
