Hi Pete. Glad you're enjoying the site and have had some useful replies from David who designed the site and from whom I took over as Webmaster a year ago. There are some notes in our Help pages about how to create your own photo albums on the site and how to link to them - just click on Help in the menu on the left and scroll down.

    Hi David,
Wow that gives some food for thought !!  This is a rather large subject and likely to hurt my head.  You've done marvellous stuff with your rig and I'm absolutely impressed and not a little because I don't have to prove the idea!  So advance ten years in a few words!  I'm thinking of making the sails in small sections that fit between the battens being lashed to them.
I wonder at the power of this rig David, would smaller rig than a bermudan be enough or is the opposite more likely?
Thanks for the reply David, what a great resource this is.

    Hi Pete,
This is pretty much what I sailed with on Tystie for about 40,000 miles! Check out the wingsail forum, the earliest postings, where I talked about the various parts of my rig. Also, in the "Your files" page of the menu, under "drawings" you can find some drawings of components here, if you can read CAD .dxf files; and under photos, you can find some in "Tystie's rig update. Look in Technical Articles for "Tystie's rig update", to read about it.

The principal thing that you need to change is to radius the nose. Most airfoil sections have a radius of about 1% of the chord.
