    Good day

I'm in Moscow, so I doubt it'll suit you :) but allu tubes are pretty commodity everywhere . Just easier for me, as we produce aluminum rather cheap.

    Bonjour Eric,

No solution is currently ruled out.

I'm considering the following three solutions: wood, alu and hybrid alu/wood

    Bonjour Jacques

Next to your mooring, in the Golfe du Morbihan, at St Philibert and Locmariaquer there is a boatyard dedicated to wooden mast.

    It could be an alternative.

An other option would be a mix structure with the lower part of the mast being an aluminium tube and the upper mast  being in wood and tapered.

For similar size I've used two alu tubes: 110x5 mm 6 meter long and inserted 100x5 mm tube in it to needed length. With bury of 80 cm.

Rounded joint edge and polished it down with some epoxy putty with glass fibre to make smooth transition point.

    Cheap, fast, strong, no maintenance

What type of mast should I choose?

    wood

    alu

    hybrid : alu-wood

    Carbon ( too expensive)

I'll probably opt for the low version of Are, 9.31m  ( sail : AR 1.89 sqm  29.8m²)

    Diameter ?

    Thanks for informations

    Good week end.
