What boat to buy?

OK, I've had 2 false starts. Firstly the Yachting World 5 Tonner. I'm embarrassed by all the help that I had in the early design, only to sell her fairly quickly. Then the Hunter Medina, which I got quite excited about, but I am about to sell. She is too small, too tender and I don't have confidence in outboards. I never did fall in love with her. So now I'm back on the boat dating scene, not much of a budget, maybe £5K tops. Looking for something around 27-28 ft with a good, solid diesel. I bitterly regret selling my Varne 27 and I see that there's a Varne up for sale, but just too far away. Are there any recommendations for a boat that would be easy to junk, maybe a Westerly? I'm all ears. Thank you all.
