I realise, however, that getting someone to volunteer is marginally more unlikely than my being asked to go on the helm for the next America's Cup challenge, but a girl lives in hope.  (Of a volunteer, that is :-})

Well as far as I know we've had no volunteers. Later this week I'll be adding a list of projects to the site, ie things which YOU could get involved in, and emailing members who have offered to help via the (unpublicised) new field that Lesley added to our profiles recently 'Could you put something back?' This will be in a new forum, probably called 'Projects'. If we don't get any volunteers I shall take a walk until my hat floats.

Hi Paul, I only deleted one picture, from Whitsunday Peak, but have added two more of sailing to windward against 25 - 30 knot winds with one panel reefed.  I am getting some great shots of my cruise, especially since I have a professional photographer with me at the moment and will start posting them in a member album in the next few days.
Great, I'll be looking forward to seeing them. It'd be good if you could get your photographer into another boat to take some photos of Arion under sail :-)
Yes, we are going to do that for sure.  Shannon has a really good camera, and is a very talented photographer, so I should get some excellent high-resolution shots.  Opportunities like this don't come along very often!

Graham, personally don't agree but should you choice to delete them in the gallery, I do hope that you will continue post them in your personal gallery. They are rather beautiful and certainly motivate me to want to sail over and experience Australia and the Great Barrier for myself.

Are there any guidelines for the public photo gallery that I have missed or forgotten?

I'll add my voice to Annie's to call for a volunteer to sort out the photogallery. It should be only for photos of interesting junk-rigged boats, to show to the outside world what the rig looks like in all its variations. We could well have other public photogalleries for other things, but someone would have to do volunteer to to a lot of copying and pasting into the new albums.
    Anyone?

At the risk of bringing down the wrath of the super-democratically minded members on my head, might I suggest that someone (a new volunteer, please?) goes through once a month or so and removes some older photos that were posted to illustrate a point, rather than coming under the heading of Pretty Pictures.  I suspect that a lot of non-members have a good old browse through the Gallery when they are wondering whether to convert, so if we can make it aesthetically pleasing as well as interesting so much the better.
