'Enjoy' you said - Yes  i did, very much, wish it was longer.

The mast lift  doesn't cut into camber at all as weight is supported by the halyard; when reefed how does it look - are there other photos available of Marie G?

I am amazed how close the main is sheeted, or appears to be in this video and Marie G still powers ahead so well.

Beautiful - a picture is worth a thousand words.

    Thanks

I posted this on June 1st on the Marie G topic.

Maybe it should rather sit here:

I haven't seen any video clips of Marie G, yet, so when I was out in Frøken Sørensen today, I took this little video as she was creeping up alongside us (Wind F3+, I guess). I haven't bothered with uploading it to Youtube  -  it is only 13seconds (19MB), so I just give you a link to the file, stored on my Dropbox:

    Enjoy!

Nice one, Meps, thanks. Lesley is travelling at the moment but I'm sure she'll get back to you soon.

It doesn't look like Barry ever responded to this thread -- we have a video of Flutterby sailing on our website, with a lovely soundtrack: http://www.mepsnbarry.com/flutterbys-bound-for-to-go/

You can download the original video from Vimeo, I think.

Here is a video of our boat Nereid, when it arrived in Bozburun Bay, Turkey, after sailing from Helsinki around Europe in 10 weeks:

thanks for all the help guys, it is appreciated.

I have found an app for the mac for downloading you tube vids, but as Paul says, the original will likely be higher quality.

If I can download from Paul's Dropbox folder, I can download from anyone's! in theory. The reality is that my connection is dodgy, but I'm willing to try if you are.

What I'll do is email those of you who have already said you have material. if you don't have a folder, the link in it will show you how to set one up for free. And we'll both get extra free storage into the bargain!

Anyone else joins this thread, just mail me and I'll share the details.

if anyone has a link to software that gives me more than 24hours in a day, please send it ASAP

Lesley, it's no problem with Linux and if you have a Linux based computer I can create a "howto" for you. I'm sure the Ipad will have an "app" for that. Just search Itunes.

Sadly, there is no way to put back what Youtube takes out of a video as you don't now what it was that was removed. The best thing would be to get those who created a Youtube video to send you a copy of the original.

Since the Dropbox download worked so well for you (Lesley), I suggest that anyone who wants to send Lesley photo's or video send them to me (my email is in my profile) directly if bandwidth is not a problem or send a dvd/usb key with the items. If you want to mail the item to me, email me and I'll send you my address. I'll then create a link from which Lesley can download them.

Seems the above will be a much surer way of getting material to Lesley.

This site lists a few apps that should do the job.
