Two days ago, I anchored in Scottie Bay, Lasqueti Island, and went to see how the replica of China Cloud was coming along. Bill Wilkinson had finally given up the struggle, after many years, and the ownership and task of completion has passed to someone else (whom I did not manage to meet). I did see the boat though, and there has been some progress since I last visited 5 years ago, and will be faster progress still under the new ownership.

Also in Scottie Bay, I came across the yacht designer Brent Swain, living on his boat. One of his origami designs, of course (I have no great hopes of converting him to the merits of junk rig, though it is an excellent fit with his general philosophy of "low and appropriate technology"). He told me that the original China Cloud is now in Deep Bay Harbor, Vancouver Island. Yesterday I went there through thick fog, and found her and took some photos. One is in the photogallery, and I'll put the others in an album in my profile.

Nice footage, bit too much editing for my liking though!
