    Hi Dennis,

Great avatar! (an orca in the form of art that the First Nations use around here, for the uninitiated).

I hope to be going past on my way north in a month or two, and will make a point of dropping into French Creek to have a look. It would be good if we could meet aboard.

Thanks David.  Yes our three families of Southern Resident orcas who "vacation" around my island from May to October are one of my passions and concerns; I admit to being a committed whale-head. These intelligent beings could teach us humans a few things about the good stewardship of THEIR environment!  A new calf was spotted just a few days ago -- great news if it survives a whole year, though the odds are not good.

With any luck, my new boat  will be anchored in Garrison Bay on San Juan Island by the end of March. Dealing with the many hurdles of this international transaction one bureaucratic "swell" at a time, but should be sailing her home by mid to late March [he said, knocking on the boat's purple heart wood trim for luck!]

Maybe better for you to look in at Winter Cove, Saturna I., then. I could well still be there.
