Redwing has just done first coastal passage and despite having half the Barrier Reef hanging off the bottom she did quite well. David Webb came with me and cheered me up as I was quite depressed at the amount of rot I have to fix. I haul out tomorrow morning at 7am...I have a week to make all good again.

Boat is loaded up and all I need is a bit of extra food, my personal bag of stuff and of course me,! The river bar is looking good and I feel a story coming on.:)

Hi David that is tempting. I leave on Tuesday but don't have to at Boatworks till 4.30pm Wednesday. Not really enough time to run you back to Russell...anyway I'll call you.

It's certainly been more than wet enough for us. I have to admit it is nice to hear the creek below the house flowing but enough I say.

Well folks here we go again, I've sacrificed the chicken and read the portents in the entrails. The rain has stopped, the wind is blowing from the right direction...or should be. So next Tuesday I once again attempt to cross the bar and get to Boatworks for a week long haul out.

    Hi Gary,

sounds a bit wet!! I hope all is well with the house and that Redwing survives OK at the finger dock. I hope you make it up to the Broadwater soon.

    All the best, David.

We've just had 370mm of rain in 24 hours and the total for March is 820mm!

A creek crossing below our house now has a new channel through it over a metre deep. It's been a tad damp.:)

Oh, bad luck, Gary.  You must be annoyed about that.  I hope you can soon make fresh arrangements and have yourself a nice wee cruise.
