Hi Annie David is on Russell Island and it's not cheap getting his car off the island so I didn't ask him if he wanted to come. I should give him the option though. It would be good to have him on board.

Tumbulgum!  What a lovely name!  Best of luck, Gary and regards to David.  He's a good sailor, so will be an asset on board.

BTW, sorry to hear about the rot.  That must be a bit depressing.

After yet more rot repairs I am taking part in an informal yacht race on the Tweed from Tumbulgum down to Fingal next weekend. I last participated two years ago and came last, though in my defense 3 yachts did use their engines to pass me. This year I have, thanks to David Webb a better sheeting system. So who knows maybe I will win!:)

If the wind is much the same as today it will be a down wind race which should give my rig a few extra points.

Count me out - I'm building a boat. The rest of you can sort this one out!

Bryan, perhaps you could draft a set of instructions on this for our new Sailing Secretary to use in advising junket organisers??
Shucks, your honour, I am but a novice at this. From my time in Northland, where I had ample opportunity to observe the Grand Masters of sitting on beer and drinking boats, the procedure seems to be:

    1) Sit on boat.

    2) Drink beer.

Annie, I'm sure, will fill in anything I've missed...

Ah Bryan, you forgot - Engage in meaningful conversation, like for example compositing heads versus others or holding tank maintenance. These sort of conversations are perennially popular and always get enthusiastic participation. Great way to get the ball rolling. Best started while eating a hearty meal.

Well Marcus and I are planning a midwinter junket. Who else is interested? Bryan?

Yes - let me know when, and expect Fantail.
Will put out an email soon and will include you in the loop.

Ah, Roy, you were obviously correct in your assessment.  Bryan has a profound grasp of the fundamentals of organising a junket!
